New mobile CSSD unit showcasing at Healthcare Estates

LEADING medical technology company Vanguard Healthcare Solutions is set to showcase its latest mobile healthcare unit at an upcoming industry event.

Vanguard will showcase its new innovative mobile Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) unit at Healthcare Estates, being held in Manchester on October 8^th and 9^th 2019.

There will be an opportunity for visitors to tour the mobile CSSD unit, which will be on site throughout the event on Stand A46 and Ian Hinitt, the President of IHEEM (Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management) will be guest of honour at a special showcase event at Healthcare Estates.

It provides a high-specification, temporary facility where all items used in procedures by hospital surgeons and clinical staff can be intensively cleaned and sterilised. Tours can be booked in advance via Eventbrite here: Book my tour - CSSD

This new unit offers a mobile CSSD solution which can be used by hospitals during refurbishment projects, or in any circumstances where their own sterilisation services may be out of commission, including emergencies, to provide replacement capacity for the cleaning, sterilising and repackaging of surgical instruments.

The unit, which provides all required cleaning, sterilisation and repackaging services over a 120m space,  includes a pre-cleaning station with a built-in ultrasonic cleaner, washer disinfectors and steam sterilisers, packing area, independent plant room, electronic datacentre, track and trace system, staff welfare area and HEPA filtered environmental air.

As part of the showcasing of the new unit, Vanguard will also host a series of workshops and information sessions for professionals. These include Legionella and Water Safety, Next Generation Estates Managers and Air Quality Testing.

Visitors will also be invited to attend a Roundtable event hosted by Vanguard on Tuesday 8^th October in room Central 8 at 12.30pm until 3pm which will explore

“Looking within: The state of Endoscopy Decontamination Suites”.

Vanguard will also be hosting two presentations over the course of the event. On Tuesday October 8^th, Steve Peak and Henk Driebergen will be exploring the first deployment of the Vanguard CSSD unit and the following day Steve Clayton will discuss how the provision of endoscopy services can meet the increasing demand.

Visitors to the Vanguard stand can also try their hand at the Rapid Response Race where they can attempt to manoeuvre a scaled-down mobile healthcare unit around a specially-designed racetrack, with prizes for the fastest laps completed and a gift for everyone who takes part.

There will also be interactive touchscreens which offer a virtual walk-through of the Vanguard fleet including laminar flow theatres, visiting hospitals, wards, endoscopy decontamination suites, endoscopy suites, clinics, endoscopy dual procedure suites, day surgery and standard theatres.
