IHEEM Wales regional conference and exhibition 2026

6-7 May 2026

The event theme is 'Navigating Uncertainty – Contingency and Resilience in Healthcare Estates' and Vanguard can point to our collaboration with Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board as evidence of how we can help with this.

IHEEM's Welsh Branch and NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership Specialist Estate Services have joined together to deliver the annual Wales Regional Conference, Exhibition and Gala Awards Dinner. The theme is Navigating Uncertainty – Contingency and Resilience in Healthcare Estates, and, currently collaborating with Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board to continue services during the extensive, emergency refurbishment of the Princess of Wales Hospital, Vanguard will be exhibiting and happy to discuss how we can help other Health Boards.

In under ten weeks Vanguard provided facilities, called 'the mini-hospital' by CTM staff, comprising four surgical theatres, two wards and an endoscopy complex, at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. You can read the case study and watch interviews with key Health Board here.

At our stand, Vanguard will demonstrate how the capability to install both modular-built and mobile facilities provides a unique offering to healthcare providers requiring additional or alternative capacity at pace, during planned or emergency refurbishments and periods of high demand.

“The complexity of the site we're trying to fit it into has been a challenge and the team from Vanguard have been really helpful, working with our own estate services to make sure that we can do that. The responsiveness, whenever we've identified a challenge, everyone's been focused on how do we make the solution work and how do we get there. The consistent primary aim for all of us has been to get these facilities mobilised as quickly as possible.”
Gethin Hughes, Chief Operating Officer, Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB

Vanguard's mobile facilities such as endoscope treatment and sterilisation complexes, operating theatres, wards and clinics , can be operational within days.

Modular construction, utilising modern methods of construction, provides design flexibility and rapid installation, and as demonstrated last year at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, by combining mobile and modular facilities, Vanguard demonstrates a unique capability to exactly meet the healthcare provider's needs, cost-effectively and at unrivalled speed.
