Mobile operating theatres are delivered to site, expanded and operational within weeks, enabling Vanguard to provide the quickest solution to the need for surgical capacity. Theatres built using modern methods of construction (MMC), in the form of modular building, offer design flexibility, and compared to traditional building methods, offer shorter project duration, lower cost, greater sustainability and less on-site disruption.

At Warwick Hospital, joined to the main building by a purpose-built corridor, a mobile theatre enables the Orthopaedics team to complete four joint replacements per day. 

Over 1,000 procedures in a year – mainly joint replacements, no missed slots, reduced stays, reduced waiting times, mutual aid realisation…all achieved by South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust, with a Vanguard mobile theatre at the heart of its orthopaedic surgical hub.

A mobile theatre and mobile ward were seamlessly integrated to create a Day Surgery Centre at Milton Keynes University Hospital, performing over 100 procedures a week and earning rave reviews from healthcare providers and patients.
