Senior Design Manager

The Senior Design Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the design  management process to deliver high-quality, innovative healthcare solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring design deliverables are tracked in line with project programmes and to agreed standards. You will influence and develop key design management processes, ensuring that these are efficient and remain fit for purpose. You will also provide leadership and assist in the development of the current team members. This will include deputising for the Technical Director when required. Responsibilities

• Design Leadership: Provide strategic design oversight and direction for projects, ensuring adherence to company standards, regulatory compliance, and project timelines. 
• Mentorship and Team Development: Mentor and support current team members, fostering their professional Mentorship and Team Development growth. 
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure alignment with the company’s objectives. 
• Innovation and Problem-Solving: Promote a culture of innovation, proactively identifying design challenges, and providing creative, effective solutions. 
• Quality Assurance: Oversee design quality, conducting reviews, and ensuring deliverables meet the highest standards. 
• Technical Support: Provide expert technical advice and support to the team, addressing complex design issues and driving project success.  
• Deputising for the Technical Director: Step in to represent and support the Technical Director in their absence, ensuring seamless continuity of leadership and decision-making.  

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior design role within the healthcare or off-site. 
• Construction industry, with a track record of delivering successful projects. 
• Strong leadership skills. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. 
• In-depth knowledge of design principles, regulations, and industry standards, particularly in the healthcare sector. 
• Good working knowledge of design software and tools, with a keen eye for detail and quality. 
• Degree in a relevant subject such as Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
