The role

As a Vanguard Clinical Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care in our mobile and modular clinical facilities. This role has been developed to ensure the smooth co-ordination of care delivered to patients, and to oversee the safe, compliant, operational and clinical running of the facility from both a technical and clinical perspective.

You will work alongside NHS and private healthcare providers, often being the sole Vanguard representative on-site, ensuring clinical services are delivered smoothly and professionally.

This is a highly varied role requiring adaptability, leadership, and excellent communication skills. It involves considerable travel across various locations throughout the UK, and will include overnight stays in hotels on a regular basis. The role also includes working in diverse clinical settings including Operating Theatres, Endoscopy Units, Wards, and Urgent Care.

The role of the VCP is open to registered ODP’s and nurses with proven track record in theatres/endoscopy/wards.

Responsabilidades

• Acting as the on-site facilitator, maintaining functional and safe clinical environments.
• Providing on-site clinical leadership, ensuring patient safety and clinical excellence.
• Supporting and mentoring agency or insourced staff in delivering quality care.
• Carrying out daily, weekly, and monthly checks on units and equipment.
• Reporting and managing clinical incidents appropriately.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with client hospital teams.
• Role modelling behaviours in line with Vanguard’s values.
• Being flexible to work across a variety of clinical settings.
• Responsibility for Health and Safety and all aspect of infection prevention within the facility.
• Assisting with the day to day running of the clinical activity.
• Working clinically within scope of practice as an ODP or registered nurse.

Requisitos

We are looking for an experienced and flexible practitioner with the following:

Essential:

• NMC or HCPC registration (with up-to-date PIN).
• Minimum 2 years’ recent experience in Operating Theatres or Endoscopy departments is required to meet the demands of this role.
• Strong clinical practice knowledge with transferable skills across services.
• Experience mentoring or supporting clinical colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.

• Experience in acute wards, emergency care, recovery, endoscopy, wards, anaesthetics.
• Clinical audit experience.
• Up-to-date mandatory training (e.g., resuscitation, infection control).
