We have established controls to hold the supply chain to the same high standards. We are<br \/>aware of the risks and have controls to manage them and assurance is provided through our<br \/>governance structure.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Yfirl\u00fdsing<\/h3>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Kynning<\/strong><br \/>\u00deessi yfirl\u00fdsing er ger\u00f0 \u00ed samr\u00e6mi vi\u00f0 kafla 54(6) \u00ed n\u00fat\u00edma \u00fer\u00e6lal\u00f6gunum 2015 og setur fram okkar<br \/>actions to understand all potential modern slavery risks related to our businesses and to put controls in place aimed at ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking within our own businesses and supply chains. Employees and workers are<br \/>encouraged to report any concerns in line with our Freedom to Speak Up: Raising Concerns<br \/>(Whistleblowing) Policy. Employees, workers, contractors and suppliers are encouraged to raise<br \/>concerns without fear of retaliation and concerns are investigated through the Group governance<br \/>framework. We continue to build a culture where individuals trust they can and should, report<br \/>concerns without blame. We have a Health, Safety and Environment Manager for the Group, who,<br \/>alongside the People team and management structure, are responsible for ensuring the right work<br \/>culture is maintained. Our governance structure means lessons learned or errors are reported<br \/>organisationally and followed up, informing our continuous improvement processes and ISO9001<br \/>accreditation.<\/p>\n<p>We have a pre-qualification process for our supply chain which assesses potential risks relating to<br \/>slavery, child labour and human trafficking. As most of our suppliers are based in the UK and<br \/>Australia, and many operate in specialised rather than low skilled industries, our supply chains have<br \/>been assessed overall as posing a relatively low risk in terms of non-compliance with the Act.<br \/>However, supply chain risks are monitored and our pre-qualification processes are updated as<br \/>necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Vi\u00f0 munum a\u00f0eins vinna me\u00f0 stofnunum \u00ed a\u00f0fangake\u00f0junni okkar sem hafa skuldbindingar \u00ed samr\u00e6mi vi\u00f0<br \/>Group\u2019s standards and can provide assurance they are not involved in modern slavery, or human<br \/>trafficking. While it is the responsibility of those organisations to operate their own policies and<br \/>procedures, we monitor compliance through supplier onboarding, pre-qualification processes,<br \/>contract management and governance controls.<\/p>\n<p>4. <strong>Risk Assessment and Due Diligence<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vanguard recognises that modern slavery risks can arise in different forms across sectors, labour<br \/>models and supply chains. Based on our business activities and supply chain profile, we consider the<br \/>following areas to present elevated risk:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>subcontracted construction and enabling works;<\/li>\n<li>temporary and agency labour;<\/li>\n<li>logistics and transport activities;<\/li>\n<li>manufacturing and modular build supply chains;<\/li>\n<li>suppliers operating in sectors with large outsourced workforces;<\/li>\n<li>lower-tier supply chain visibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To mitigate these risks, we operate supplier onboarding and due diligence controls which include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>supplier pre-qualification questionnaires;<\/li>\n<li>approved supplier processes;<\/li>\n<li>review of supplier standards and policies;<\/li>\n<li>contractual obligations relating to ethical conduct and compliance;<\/li>\n<li>periodic supplier reviews; and<\/li>\n<li>escalation through governance and procurement processes where concerns are identified.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Group continues to review and strengthen its supply chain governance arrangements and<br \/>supplier engagement processes where appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>Where concerns relating to modern slavery, labour standards or ethical conduct are identified,<br \/>Vanguard will assess the issue through its governance and procurement processes and determine<br \/>appropriate remedial actions, which may include enhanced supplier engagement, corrective action<br \/>plans or termination of supplier relationships where necessary.<\/p>\n<p>5. <strong>A\u00f0ger\u00f0ir sem ger\u00f0ar hafa veri\u00f0 \u00e1 s\u00ed\u00f0ustu 12 m\u00e1nu\u00f0um<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During 2025 we:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>reviewed the revised statutory guidance issued in March 2025 and considered the implications for the Group\u2019s governance and reporting approach;<\/li>\n<li>continued to review and assess the risks and mitigations relating to our supply chain;<\/li>\n<li>undertook an annual review of our supply chain controls and processes relating to compliance with the Act;<\/li>\n<li>continued to monitor compliance with supplier standards through onboarding and supplier review processes;<\/li>\n<li>continued to assess the effectiveness of our governance structure and made amendments where appropriate to ensure controls remain effective;<\/li>\n<li>continued to raise awareness of the Act and associated risks through induction, biennial refresher training and governance processes; and<\/li>\n<li>continued development of supplier standards and responsible sourcing controls as part of our supply chain governance framework.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00deessi yfirl\u00fdsing var sam\u00feykkt af stj\u00f3rn f\u00e9lagsins \u00feann 6. j\u00fan\u00ed 2025 og mun h\u00fan endursko\u00f0a hana og uppf\u00e6ra \u00e1rlega.<\/p>\n<p>6. <strong>Measuring Effectiveness<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During 2025 the Group continued to strengthen governance arrangements relating to ethical<br \/>procurement and supply chain oversight. Key activities included:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>continued supplier pre-qualification reviews;<\/li>\n<li>annual review of supply chain compliance controls;<\/li>\n<li>continued employee induction and awareness activity relating to modern slavery and<\/li>\n<li>whistleblowing;<\/li>\n<li>ongoing review of governance controls relating to ethical procurement and supplier management; and<\/li>\n<li>development of enhanced supplier assessment processes and supplier standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Group continues to review the effectiveness of these controls through its governance and management structures.<\/p>\n<p>7. <strong>Umb\u00f3ta\u00e1\u00e6tlanir<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We aim to:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>undertake a modern slavery risk assessment with our agencies and critical suppliers;<\/li>\n<li>maintain our supplier standard to ensure it meets our ESG and Social Value ambitions;<\/li>\n<li>monitor NHS supplier requirements and evolve best practice standards;<\/li>\n<li>strengthen governance arrangements supporting continuous improvement and mitigation of supply chain risks;<\/li>\n<li>improve awareness relating to compliance with the Act, including bribery, corruption and child labour risks; and<\/li>\n<li>continue developing controls and a culture which encourage appropriate reporting and management of modern slavery risks across our Group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Oversight of modern slavery and ethical supply chain risk is supported through the Group\u2019s governance framework and Board oversight processes.<\/p>\n<p>This statement has been approved by the Board of Directors on 29 May 2026, who will review and update it on an annual basis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr Graham Rich<br \/>forstj\u00f3ri<br \/>8 June 2026<\/strong><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Policy Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights.
