How we can help

Ward space is often at a premium, particularly during seasonal periods of additional pressure. The introduction of a mobile hospital ward can significantly increase the bed space available at a hospital, reducing the pressure on healthcare providers and improving patient access to vital inpatient spaces.

Vanguard mobile wards can be utilised as a standalone ward unit or as part of a complex. They have been used across NHS hospitals to provide additional recovery bays, to maintain single-sex accommodation and to provide additional capacity during winter pressures. One Trust has developed a hardstanding area and utilities access dedicated to Vanguard mobile wards, allowing them to flex their capacity as needed when winter arrives.

Our mobile ward facilities consist of:

  • Reception/nurse station
  • 6-bed ward
  • Bedhead system with oxygen, vacuum and lights
  • WC with wheelchair access
  • Changing room
  • Utility rooms
  • Refreshment area
  • HEPA-filtered environmental air filtration system
