Det samlede antal svarer til mere end trekvart million (755.046) aftaler hos kvinder, et tal der er steget fra 360.400 lige f\u00f8r pandemien.<\/p>\n<p>Eksperter siger, at det ikke kun er et sundhedsproblem at h\u00e5ndtere disse forsinkelser, men ogs\u00e5 &quot;en \u00f8konomisk og social n\u00f8dvendighed&quot;, idet de ansl\u00e5ede omkostninger ved ikke at behandle kvinder for gyn\u00e6kologiske lidelser hurtigt vil ligge p\u00e5 omkring 11 milliarder pund \u00e5rligt.<\/p>\n<p>Da der forts\u00e6tter de lange ventetider for ikke-kr\u00e6ftrelateret gyn\u00e6kologisk behandling, har Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists opfordret til akut hj\u00e6lp og langsigtet, vedvarende finansiering for at l\u00f8se de problemer, der driver v\u00e6ksten i ventelister.<\/p>\n<p>Organisationens seneste rapport viste, at ventelisterne for gyn\u00e6kologi i Storbritannien er vokset med en tredjedel siden deres resultater fra 2022. Og de advarer om, at dataene kun afspejler en del af problemet, da mange flere kvinder sandsynligvis venter p\u00e5 diagnostiske tests for at bekr\u00e6fte deres tilstand eller p\u00e5 vigtig opf\u00f8lgende behandling efter de f\u00f8rste behandlinger.<\/p>\n<p>Derudover var antallet af nye henvisninger til gyn\u00e6kologi i december 2024 28% h\u00f8jere sammenlignet med tallene registreret i marts 2020.<\/p>\n<p>De siger, at det er afg\u00f8rende for folks fysiske og mentale sundhed og deres livskvalitet samt dets indvirkning p\u00e5 samfundet som helhed at tage fat p\u00e5 dette problem hurtigt.<\/p>\n<p>Rapporten bem\u00e6rker de &quot;\u00f8del\u00e6ggende og eskalerende konsekvenser&quot; af forsinkelser, da de ber\u00f8rte kvinder ofte oplever &quot;kroniske, invaliderende smerter&quot; og forv\u00e6rrede fysiske og psykiske helbredssymptomer. Der er konsekvenser for andre dele af sundhedssystemet, hvor omkring 251.000 kvinder, der venter p\u00e5 en aftale, er n\u00f8dt til at komme p\u00e5 skadestuen p\u00e5 grund af deres symptomer.<\/p>\n<p>I mellemtiden fremh\u00e6ver en separat rapport anf\u00f8rt af NHS Confederation bredere \u00f8konomiske konsekvenser og ansl\u00e5r, at frav\u00e6r fra arbejdspladsen for\u00e5rsaget af gyn\u00e6kologiske tilstande s\u00e5som kraftig menstruation, endometriose, fibromer og cyster p\u00e5 \u00e6ggestokkene koster den britiske \u00f8konomi n\u00e6sten 11 milliarder pund \u00e5rligt.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00e5 hvordan kan sundhedspersonale reducere ventetiderne for gyn\u00e6kologiske diagnostiske procedurer og behandlinger?<\/p>\n<p>RCOG har opfordret regeringer i hele Storbritannien til at forpligte sig til langsigtet finansiering og implementere omfattende strategier for at reducere ventetider med den begrundelse, at vedvarende investeringer er afg\u00f8rende for at &quot;sikre rettidig adgang til pleje og forhindre yderligere forv\u00e6rring af kvinders sundhedsresultater&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>At h\u00e5ndtere dette problem s\u00e5 hurtigt som muligt er en del af regeringens nyligt annoncerede plan for forandring. Den danner ogs\u00e5 en hj\u00f8rnesten i partnerskabsaftalen mellem NHS og den uafh\u00e6ngige sektor, der blev annonceret i januar, og som Vanguard Healthcare Solutions har underskrevet.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00e5 hvad bliver der gjort? Det har vist sig at v\u00e6re en succes at str\u00f8mline processer og tilbyde dem s\u00e5 t\u00e6t p\u00e5 hjemmet som muligt for patienterne.
