About you

Due to our successful business strategy and period of significant growth, we are now looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our team.

You will be responsible for supporting the finance team across a typically diverse range of activities for our UK, Australia and Swedish subsidiaries, including but not limited to: analysing and reconciling key balance sheet accounts; raising sales invoices and posting customer remittances on Sage; preparing twice monthly supplier payment runs; analysing unusual trends and variances.

You will ideally be AAT Level 4, part qualified CIMA / ACCA preferably studying towards a full qualification and able to demonstrate accounts experience, attention to detail and competence.

The post requires flexibility, particularly at month end, as well as around the year end audit, and may require additional hours to be worked periodically.

We deliver the quality and service expectations of our customers, and your responsibilities will include:

  • Sales invoices & remittances
  • Cover for purchase ledger as required
  • Journal entries, including accruals and prepayments
  • Reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts
  • Preparing supplier payment runs for review and authorisation by the Finance Manager and Group Financial Controller
  • Assisting with the completion of the monthly management accounts
  • Analysis of daily returns / staff data
  • Assist with the year end audit and tax submissions

We are looking for someone to work 37.5 hours per week, over 5 days, however we are flexible and willing to discuss a suitable working pattern with the successful applicant. In return, you may be required to work additional hours at peak periods, so flexibility will be important.  This is a hybrid role and once established, you will be working a minimum of 3 days a week in the Gloucester office.
