How are NHS Trusts going to meet waiting list targets in a difficult financial climate?
Research specialists Credo have released a white paper exploring the challenges of meeting waiting list targets in a tight financial climate.
The paper, entitled “The New Waiting List Challenge”, looks at the approaches that NHS bosses can take to increase capacity and cut waiting times, even if budgets are tighter than in previous years.
Mobile surgical facilities are expounded by Credo’s researchers as the most suitable of three main avenues that hospital bosses can explore with regards to increasing capacity.
The other two options – extending hospital hours and subcontracting to external suppliers – while valuable in some cases, do not offer the same potential for cost savings, operational continuity and autonomy of process that are offered by incorporating flexible onsite facilities.
