Chief Executive, Ian Gillespie
Ian Gillespie is Chief Executive of Vanguard Healthcare, a role he assumed following the management buy-out of Vanguard from Nuffield Health in 2009. Before the MBO, Ian held the position of Managing Director of Vanguard – a post that he filled after joining Nuffield Hospitals in September 2007 as Director of Primary Care.
Prior to his time at Vanguard and Nuffield, Ian ran a variety of businesses in the UK and the US, latterly as Vice President Medical of the BOC Group. He has championed innovation throughout his career and has been on the leading edge of groundbreaking healthcare developments since 1995 when he worked on, among other projects, the creation of a unique lifesaving therapy for persistent pulmonary hypertension in newborns.
